That is why the Velázquez Dictionary, recognized throughout the world as the highest authority in bilingual Spanish-English dictionaries, needs to keep pace with all the new terms which the prodigious progress of man is introducing in the fields of science, inventions and discoveries, as well as with those terms which constantly evolving customs and events introduce into both languages. Thus the new revised Velázquez dictionaey, without sacrificing any of the traditional characteristics which have made predecessor editions the pattern for dictionaries of this type, is without doubt the most modern and complete edition of the work ever published. Included in the main alphabetical word lists are thousands of new terms and idiomatic expressions of general use, replacing expressions no longer in common usage which consequently have no place in a book as eminently practical as this one. This latest revision of the text has been exhaustive.
