AcknowledgementsThe material of this bibliography has been collected between 1984 and 1990. Besides various national and international historical bibliographies the editor has used catalogues of numerous big national and university libraries in Bloomington, Budapest, Cambridge, Erfurt, Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig, London, Moscow, New York, Oxford, Prague, Utrecht, and Vienna. The infinite number of titles could not have been arranged into the present form without the most valuable help of colleagues. It was Professor Georg G. Iggers who read the first draft, encouraged the editor to continue his work and recommended it to Greenwood Press for publication.
