Balázs Kántás was born in Budapest, 1987. He graduated at Eötvös Loránd University in BA English Studies in 2009, then in MA Literary and Cultural Studies in 2011. He obtained a PhD degree in Comparative Literature in 2015, at the same university. His primary field of research is the oeuvre and Hungarian reception of Paul Celan; furthermore, he is a very active critic and scholar of contemporary Hungarian literature.
