FROM JAN KNIGHT NSC NEWS Since the summer conferences, life has con-tinued to be hectic in the sleepy west country. I regularly help in an Anglican parish in their "listening post" - a time when pcople can come for prayer and counselling. I am also involved in their diocesan healing commit-tee, which put on two large events this year in Wells Cathedral. One was a visit by Francis and Judith McNutt in July and the other a healing day with Bishop Morris Maddocks in October. The Catholic Bishop's committee for Health and Healing continues to organise teaching days and healing services in various parts of the Clifton diocese. My husband Palrick and I, together with some members of our Heart Community, took part in a healing service in a Catholic parish in Torquay at the invitation of Fr. Kevin O'Connell. We also have continued todoteachinginlocalLifeintheSpiritSeminars which are taking place. Looking ahead, the NSC is planning a weekend on the healing ministry July 9th - llth 1993 at the Sion Community in Brentwood. We want those involved to let us know what aspects of ¦ THE NATIONAL SERVICE COMMIT-TEE Tor Ca thol ic Charismatic Rencwal in England are Charles Whitehead (Chairman), Fr. Ian Petit OSB, Fr. Sean Conaty, Dr. Jan Knight, Archic Cameron, Myles Dcmpscy, Roy Hendy, Frcddy Muscat (Gibraltar), Sr. Pascal, Eilecn Ó"Kane, Fr. Tom Kenny, Peter Moran. In fact may I rem ind you that we do like to hear from you, with your suggestions on topics for Goodnews, ideas for training weekends or anything else. May we continue to encourage one another in the work to which the Lord has called us and may He bless us all in 1993. Eileen O'Kane and the Brentwood Diocesan Team ran a very succcssful prayer group leaders' week-end on November 25 as a follow-up to the NSC Leaders' Weekend that took place in May last year. The skills and techniques leamt at the weekend were passed on by the team to prayer group leaders. Topics covered included leadership, the hidden years (i.e. when nothing seems to be happening), planning and problem sol ving managemenL Another day is planned for February 6th when Communication and dealing with problem people among other things will be looked at Fr. Tom Kenny and the priests service committee aided by Sr. Mary Peter at the NSC office are busily preparing for this year's priests' retreat with Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, the Pope's personal preacher. He is such a brilliant speaker that we would encourage you to persuade as many priests as possible to attend. Pete Moran, has taken over as hands-on director of the Sion Community, leaving Er. Pat Lynch, the original founder, free, as president, to break new ground and develop the community visión. Archie Cameron and the Emmaus Family of Prayer have recently put on a training day to equip people to run Life in the Spirit Seminars in parishes, which they see as a key way to evangelize.
