The terrible scars of the siege of a twelve months ago have not yet healed on the face of the capital that was thrown as a senseless sacrifice into the devastation of the war forced upon Hungary. Beneath the torn exterior is hidden an intact soul ; we are living, we are hoping and we are working. The pages of this calendar are not intended to recall the horrors of the recent past only, but to demonstrate the vitality of the Hungarians and their will to work, from which we draw confidence that Budapest will be rebuilt as it proves that Budapest lives again.
