Directory of public databases [antikvár]

Foreword The third edition of the Directory of public databases includes, in addition to databases produced by the Commission of the European Communities, those produced within other Community institutions and the Office for Official Publications of the European Communities. This development, together with the introduction of new databases, brings the total number of entries to 44, compared to 33 in the previous edition. A new heading, 'Site of the original database', has been added to the database descriptions. This heading Indicates where the official version of the database is found (usually one of the Commission's own host computers). Information as to where the database may be accessed by the public Is given under the heading 'Distribution'. The list of distribution organizations has been modified to differentiate between the various types of distributor, i.e. hosts, gateways, commercial agents and CD-ROM publishers. An index by country and a list of CD-ROIVls and diskettes are also included.
