LECTORI SALUTEM! LECTORI SALUTEM!650 éve annak, hogy Nagy Lajos király, V. Orbán pápa és Vilmos püspök áldozatos munkájának köszönhetően 1367-ben Pécsett egyetemet alapítottak. Létrehozni Magyarország első egyetemét forradalmi gondolat volt, még akkor is, ha abban az időszakban Európában voltak már ennek előzményei. Innentől kezdve lépett Magyarország a tudás alapon társadalmat építő nemzetek sorába. Meggyőződésem, hogy ez a 650-es jubileum igazi jelentősége. A kormány is felismerte az egyetemalapítási évforduló országhatáron is túlnyúló, európai szintű fontosságát, így 2017-től minden szeptember elsejét a Magyar Felsőoktatás Napjává nyilvánította.Mindenki tudja, hogy nem volt túl hosszú életű a középkori Studium Generale, nyilvánvaló, hogy nem áll fent közvetlen jogfolytonosság a középkori intézmény és a mai Pécsi Tudományegyetem között. Szellemi örökség viszont van!A jeles évfordulóra szervezett programsorozat eseményeinek egy-egy kiemelt gyöngyszemét csillogtatjuk meg e kötetben, s szívből remélem, hogy sikerül megosztani Önnel, kedves Olvasó, azt, hogy a 650 éves évforduló szellemisége igazi közösségi élménnyé vált.Legyünk büszkék a jövőben is a magyar felsőoktatásra és annak gyökereire!It was 650 years ago that, thanks to the commitment of King Louis the Great, Pope Urban V, and Bishop William, the university was founded in Pecs, in 1367. It was a revolutionary thought to found the first university of Hungary, even if such universities already existed in other European countries in that era. From this moment on Hungary entered into the circle of nations building their societies based on knowledge. I am convinced that this is the true significance of Jubilee 650. The Government of Hungary also recognized the cross-border, European-level importance of the anniversary of the foundation of our university, and therefore announced that 1s1 September will be the Day of Hungarian Higher Education from 2017 onwards.As we all know, Studium Generale did not live long in the Middle Ages, and it is obvious that there is no direct legal succession between the medieval institute and today's University of Pecs. But we certainly have an intellectual heritage!In this volume we highlight some of the gleaming pearls of the programme series organized for this illustrious milestone, and I sincerely hope that our readers can experience some of the real community feeling and spirit that we experienced during our 650-year anniversary, thereby underlining what it meant to us.Let us continue to be proud of Hungarian higher education and its roots!BÓDIS József RektorJózsef BÓDIS Rector
