Míves fegyverek a Gödöllői Királyi Kastélyban II. [antikvár]

Előszó12 év telt azóta, hogy ^ fegyvergyűjteményem egy része kikerült a Gödöllői Királyi Kastélyba, amelyet az idén követett a másik fele. Sokan és sokszor kérdezték tőlem, nem bántam-e meg, hogy ilyen hosszú időre lemondtam róluk. Mindenkinek az volt a válaszom, hogy nem, hiszen míg a lakásomon pár tucat ember fordul meg évente, itt százezrek gyönyörködhetnek bennük. Igen sok gyűjtőt megszédít a birtoklási vágy, akik mohón igyekeznek minél több tárgyat megszerezni, hogy aztán sütkérezhessenek gazdagságuk fényében. A valódi gyűjtő e helyett illő alázattal közelít gyűjteményéhez, mivel tudja, hogy a valóságban nem ő birtokolja a régiségeit, hanem azok birtokolják őt. Ezek a csodás tárgyak már léteztek ugyanis századokkal az ő születése előtt, és éppúgy létezni fognak évszázadokkal a halála után is. Szépségük időtlenségéhez képest az a néhány év, ameddig egy-egy újabb gyűjtő falait ékesítik, mindössze múló pillanat, amelynek nem érdemes túlzott jelentőséget tulajdonítani.Ezért tölt el örömmel, hogy a Gödöllői Királyi Kastély immár a teljes gyűjteménynek otthont ad, kívánom, hogy a látogatóknak teljék minél több öröme benne.Dr. Grád AndrásPrefaceTwelve years have passed since the first part of my weapons collection was relocated to the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, which was followed by the other half this year. People have constantly asked me, if lever regret giving them up for such a long period of time. My answer has always been a definite no. While in my home only a couple dozen of people could get to see them a year, here hundreds of thousands of people can admire their beauty. Many collectors get stunned by the desire to possess their collection and get carried away with their greed to own more and more objects, only to take glory in their riches. Opposed to this, real collectors take a humble approach towards their collection, since they are aware of the fact, that in reality, it is their collection that possesses them, and not the other way round. This is explained by the fact that these glorious objects have been in existence centuries before the birth of any said collectors, and will continue to exist centuries after they have passed. The fleeting time while they decorate a collectors wall is pure nothingness compared to their timeless beauty, and so, must not be given too much significance. This is why is pleases me deeply to have my entire collection exhibited at the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, and I wish that visitors get the utmost pleasure out of them.Dr. András Grád
