Bővebb ismertető
A day of prominent importance in the life of the Farkas Street congregation, of the citizens of Cluj, of the Transylvanian Calvinist community and of all Hungarians in the Carpathian basin. After a break of more than a year and a half, the congregation joins in thanksgiving in the Church. The house of God is totally renewed, one might even say reborn. Everyone joining the celebration or visiting in the future can say honest-ly, with all their hearts: "Happy are those that dwell in thy house" (Psalms 84:4). We are happy, for we can see with our own eyes what we have only dreamt about. And grateful, too, for God let us live the day when we come here not to clean, restore, repair or replace things, but to praise Him, the God Almighty, and sing alleluia. Only this way does the happiness expressed by the psalmist become complete. Today we confess with him: "Happy are those that dwell in thy house; they shall continually praise thee". The Farkas Street church is not only a prominent historic monument, not only a place of worship, but the common home of subsequent generations always finding each other, for almost half a millennium. Here those alive today can be together in the communion of saints and the company of the saved. Godly members of generations past and future can be together. And in this house we find a home. A home in the presence of God, together with our beloved ones that passed away and our unborn descendants. To them, our great-grandchildren we bequeth this inestimable church, their heritage. Together and at home in the Church - this is the feeling that fills our hearts with joy and gratitude as we celebrate. And as a memory of this day of communion we hand all those present this small album presenting the history of the Reformed church from Farkas Street and the restoration works undertaken in 2014-2015. May the blessing of God be with us all evermore!Zsolt Fazekas, minister
