THE CHINA MUSEUM The magnificent collection of china is housed in the northern entrance to the Grand Staircase and is the first item of interest that the visitor to the State Apartments sees. The collection includes a fine set of Minton china in royal blue made in 1877 for Queen Victoria, and another set -- alsó in blue, though this time lighter in colour-which Mintons made specially for King Edward VII. Another interesting set is the Royal Worcester of a rich dark blue colour made about 1815 for the Prince Regent, afterwards King George IV; above the Royal Coat-of-Arms is the Sovereign's crown on one side and the Prince of Wales' feathers on the opposite side. ? ? * below: The Grand Staircase showing the door leading into The King's Dining Room.
