AJL Vsa result of the deepgoing socio-economic changes that have taken place after the liberation of the Rumanian people from the fetters of capitalist exploitation, a new culture and a new consciousness have arisen and been developed in this country. One of the results is a new attitűdé towards public property, consequently alsó towards works of art, even though many of them had been created exclusively for the use of the ruling classes, for the indulgence of potentates, and the delight of a narrow circle of the "elect."The Rumanian Workers' Party and the state bodies are carrying on intensive work with a view to turning culture into an asset of the masses. Earmarking ever more considerable funds for the development of the material basis of culture (national in form and socialist in contents) through the setting up of thousands of new educational and creation esta-blishments, the Party and government are carrying out a vast cultural revolution.
