I. OBJECT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HORTICULTUREThe University of Horticulture is the highest level statc institution for a special fieldhorticulturejust like uni-versities and other institutions of higher level oC education under tha supreme authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (University for Agricultural Sciences, Ve.-terinary University, University for Forestry and Timber Industry).The object of the University of Horticulture is the education of "certificated horticultural engineers" and "horticullural works engineers" trained in branches of horticultural pro-duction (ornaments, medicinái plants, fruit, wine, vegetable and nürsery growing, etc.); of "certificated engineers for preserving industry" and "works engineers for preserving industry", respectively, specialized in the field of cooling. canning and tobacco-industry, as well as viticulture; and the education of "certificated horticultural engineers for land-scape-architecture" for the architecture of landscape and gardens in conformity with the growing" demand of socialist developmeirt.Apart from primary training at the university, it provides for the replacement of experts and scientists in these speciai fields by means of postgraduate education.The University takes an active part in domestic horticultural research, finding solutions for theoretical and practical problems forming the task of education at the University.By joining in' the consulting network, renders advice 011 wine-, fruit-, vegetable growing, ornamental- and propagation material growing, preservation and processing of horticullural products, landscape planning and architecture and horticultural mechanization.
