INTRODUCTION
All the tricks in this book are easy to learn and simple to perform.
Even so, a little time spent in rehearsal will enhance their impact and improve your reputation as a performer.
So how much practice does a card trick need? Enough to ensure you perform it smoothly and can handle the cards with confidence. No one believes in a performer who is nervous, or who is not in control of the material. Practice until a trick becomes second nature, and you will give your presentation the poHsh these fine tricks deserve.
It is also a good idea to memorize the two golden rules of magical performance. Rule One: Never do the same trick twice for the
same audience, no matter how hard they plead with you. Rule Two: Never bore your audience. Stop performing while they still want to see more. That way, you will be asked to entertain them another time.
Above all else, enjoy your magic. Card tricks are designed to divert and entertain, and there is no reason why you shouldn't enjoy each performance as much as your audience does.
