39. Magyar Filmszemle [antikvár]

BEVEZETŐ INTRODUCTION Mozizni jó. Filmezni is jó. Az is jó, hogy minden évben van Filmszemle, ahol megtekinthető az előző év magyar filmtermése. Az is jó, hogy filmeznek, filmezhetnek ma is a magyar filmszakma nagy öregjei, és hogy egyre több tehetséges filmes fiatal jelenik meg évről évre. Új játékfilmek, kisfilmek, dokumentumfilmek készülnek el a Szemlére, majd egyre több film gyűjt be díjakat a világ nagy nemzetközi fesztiváljain. Minden év hoz olyan magyar filmeket, amikre a közönség is szívesen ül be a moziba. Az is jó, hogy egyre több nem-filmes cég él azzal a lehetőséggel, hogy a magyar játékfilmekben vagy a főcímekben való megjelenésért komoly összegekkel támogatja a készülő filmeket. Szinte mindenki él a filmtörvénnyel megnyílt 20%-os forrás lehetőségével. Az is nagyon jó, hogy beindulni látszik a magyar filmek külföldi forgalmazása, legalábbis a nagy filmes vásárokon való jelenlét. Újabb forrást jelenthet számunkra, ha külföldi filmvásárlók vesznek magyar filmet. Az nem jó, ha a filmszakmában belső ellentétek feszülnek, az sem jó, ha nincs közös álláspont, és az sem jó, ha az egész országra jellemző megosztottság a filmszakmában is megjelenik. Én mindenesetre azt szeretném, hogy legyen sok jó magyar film, legyen sok néző,sok filmes díj, és nem utolsósorban legyen pénz arra, hogy újabb és újabb magyar filmek születhessenek. Hitchcock mondta: „Akkor jó egy film, ha megéri egy vacsora, egy mozijegy, meg egy babysitter árát." Hogy igaz-e ez a mondás a 39. Magyar Filmszemlére, meglátjuk. VIVA LA CINEMA! ÉLJEN A FILM! Watching movies is fun. Making movies is fun, too. It is good that each year there is a Filmweek, where one can see the past year's harvest of Hungarian films. It is good too that the doyens of Hungarian film can - and do - make films even today and that the number of talented young filmmakers appearing on the scene keeps rising. New feature films, short films, and documentaries are completed for the Filmweek, and an increasing number of them are honored with awards at major international festivals worldwide. Each year brings Hungarian films the audience delights in seeing at the cinema. It is good too that an increasing number of companies outside the film industry take the opportunity to finance the production of new films in exchange for appearing in Hungarian feature films or their credits. Nearly all of them take advantage of the 20% tax rebate made available by the new Film Law. It is also very good that the foreign distribution of Hungarian films has gained momentum, particularly in their presence at major film markets. Acquisition of Hungarian films by foreign buyers can serve as a source of further funding. It is not so good, however, when the film profession is divided by tensions and has no common position, and it is not so good either when the polarizing rifts in society as a whole rear their ugly head In the film profession, as well. I for one hope to see plenty of good Hungarian films, large audiences, lots of film awards, and last but not least I hope there will be enough money to ensure the creation of more and more new Hungarian films. Hitchcock once said:"A good film is when the price of the dinner, the theatre admission and the babysitter were worth it." Whether this saying fits the 39th Hungarian Filmweek is yet to be seen.
