who have led the way for us as a spiritual family throughout these 50 years.
In our day there is an unspoken longing for mothers and fathers in Christ (1 Corinthians 4:15), people who reflect the Saviour, people whose lives point to Him. The Sermon on the Moimt is widely considered too Utopian to apply to everyday life. Searching questions are asked about coping with suffering and breaking through to the joy of the Lord — a joy no one can take away Oohn 16:22).
How we tharvk God for giving us two mothers in Christ who have found the key to these issues and who with their whole being are an open letter from Christ (2 Corinthians 3:3). For many others, too, they have become spiritual mothers, God having used their testimony to touch numerous lives.
Years before the Sisterhood of Mary began, God prepared our foimding mothers for their future ministry, leading them to do without any earth-
ly security and to rely completely upon Him. Making God alone thek help and refuge in every situation, they grew strong in faith, and thus were enabled later to lead our entire community along the same path.
In retrospect we can only say that as we have walked this path with our mothers God has never disappointed us, for He stands by His word and no one who has faith in God will ever be disgraced for trusting
