A Guide to Royal London [antikvár]

Editor's Note This book contains all those entries in the London Encyclopsedia that deal with buildings and land which belong or belonged to the Crown or which have peculiarly royal connections. Many of the entries have been revised, new entries have been included, and opening times have been added so that Royal London may serve as a guide book as well as an encyclopaedia. Names of buildings which have been demolished or otherwise destroyed are printed in funereal Gothic - as, for instance, J^riiietocU. A few subjects, such as Statues, are grouped together. There are also various special subject entries including Ceremonies. Cross references are indicated by small capitals in the body of the entry. In a book such as this the debt to previous writers is, of course, prodigious; but it has been considered impracticable to enumerate the very many works that have been consulted. We are deeply grateful to the authors and editors of them all. A list of contributors to the London Encyclopsedia upon which this book is based is given below.
