[Here is an exact copy of a letter I wrote in a train between Toulouse and Paris.]
"Paris, 6th August 1928.
"Honourable Mr. Director of the Municipal Hospital, P-, England.
"As I am willing to specialisy me in surgery and gyne-cology, I allow me the devoted question if it is possible for you to procure me a position as an assistant in the hospital led by you, also with only a modest honorary.
"I am Russian, 26 years old (unmarried), have finished my study in Florence (Italy) and there made the diploma and examen of State. I am in perfect knowledge and ex-perience of bacteriológica! and histological analysis, ther-apia Roentgen and electrical and I have good practice as an assistant in the orthopaedical and gynecological partitions of University hospitals.
"Further I allow me to mention that I speak besides a little English also the French, Italian, German, and Slav languages.
