Introduction Whoever visits Antwerp for the first time is astonished at the rich variety of the places of interest that the city offers. There is much to see and experience, in the sphere of both art history and commerce. Judged by the number of inhabitants - half a millión -Antwerp does not count among the great cities of the world, but, with the port which extends to the Dutch bordér, its extent is greater than that of the Belgian capital, Brussels.
