Series Introduction
Therapeutics has become a major part of neurological practice. For many
neurological conditions good therapy exists. The use of levodopa in
Parkinson's disease has provided a model of neurotransmitter replace-
ment therapy in neurodegenerative diseases. We are still in the process of
searching for symptomatic treatment for other degenerative disorders.
The current book is concerned with the comprehensive management of
Alzheimer's disease, including drug therapy and behavioral therapy as
well as the long-term care of the patient with dementing illness. The final
section of the book points to future directions in treatment Drs. Cum-
mings and Miller are to be complimented for providing so much useful in-
formation on the treatment and management of Alzheimer's disease.
