SOME REMARKS ABOUT THE SOCIETY PAiMM & SERRIES MBAmon AquincumIt was founded in 1969 at the Fac.of Transport (FT) of the Technical University of Budapest (TU-Bp) to hold PAMM-Conferences (Pes) in the Applied and Computing Mathematics (ACM) and to publish the lectures (in Hungary), in cooperation with univ. mathematicians, engineers, physicists, economists, etc. This activity developed quickly, from FT a.) to the whole TU-Bp, b.) then to numerous colleagues of home and foreign (T)Us of Danube Basin (DB); c.) the home PCs of BP., DEBRECEN, SZEGED, VESZPRÉM, BALATON, GOD, etc.; also to the ones of KOSICE, KRAKOW, NOVI SAD, WIEN, BELGRADE, RIJEKA, ISTANBUL,Zeus AquincumTimisoara (Ts)TRIESTE, CLUJ, PARIS, LONDON, ATHEN, TIMISOARA, ROMA, etc.; d.) the PCs into nodes of luN, e.) the former Hung, papers to the Bulletins of Applied Mathematics (BAM) of PAMM, mostly in English. Till now (the end of '96) the main results: 116 PCs, namely 90 home and 26 foreign ones; 80 BAM-volumes with near 1300 papers; the start of a new series in ACM (see défais below). The MONOGRAPHiCAL BOOKLETS (MBs) of PAMM - started just in the Millecentenary Jubilee Year 1996 of the Hungarian Conquest in the DB - form a really new series in ACM. Its initialBelgrade (Bg)Kosice (Ks)volumes being under preparation are listed on the next page. ' Their authors are univ. sci. personalities of PAMM; e.g. Profs I.Zobory, F.Fazekas, L.Kóczy, I.Zsuffa, E.Gilicze from HUNGARY; Profs J.Jaric, RFolic, D.Herceg, A.-D.Takaci, Z.Boricic from YOUGOSLAVIA; Profs N.Boje, S. Balint T. Banzaru, O. LIpovan from ROMANIA; Profs M. Krpan, J. Brinic from CROATIA; Prof. 8. SkrabI from SLOVENIA; Prof. R.lsler from ITALY; Prof. F.KIepp from GERMANY; Prof. LMadarász Uom SLOVAKIA; etc. They elaborate inCluj (CI)Rijel(a (Ri)their MBs various modem topics from ACM, with general survey and proper results, as well. The MBs are recommended for dipl. engineers, economists, physicists, biologists, doctorands, postgraduates, researchers-lecturers of ACM, occasionally for eminent graduate students too. The PAMM counts on the interest and expectation of this reading public (RP) being in the DB and beside one. The chief (F.Fazekas) and the members (A.Takaci, J.Brnic, N.Boje, L.Madarász, etc.) of Editorial Staft are univ. colleagues having great experience in edition of sci. books, papers and they are assisted by a Scientific Council, an Executive Committee and - last but not least - by empathizing sponsors too. The PAMM is hoping a successful and durable mental cooperation - just by the MB-series - with the kind RP, with best greetings. Till the end of this year, the above mentioned main resuis were charactered so: 127 PCs wflh 98 home & 29 foreign ones, 98 BAM - volumes with near 3900 papers (mainly in English), the last 4 volumes with supplements (of 15-25 pages) The PAMM's Life", 14 pubished MB - volumes with authors Profs Taiaci, Balint, Boja, Popa, Cvetkovic, Brnic, Joo (4), Sburlan-Morosanu, Pokoradi-Szabolcsi, Tuba, Cristescu, etc. They show the PAMM's development on the way of creativity.
