Angels of September [antikvár]

NOTE Enough time has elapsed since the strange meteorological phenomena at the end of September in 1983 so that it is possible to teli the story of the apparent cause of these bizarre events which did so much damage on the Near North Side of Chicago. Readers famiiiar with the area in which these strange occurrences took place will recognize the pains I have taken to disguise and protect the actual people involved. The names are fictional, of course, and no amount of searching in either this story or the newspaper accounts of the time will reveal the reai-life counterparts of my characters. The "Mother of Mercy" school fire ought not to be confused with another Chicago school fire which happened many years later. Nevertheless, the reader is given all the raw material available to "Father Ryan" from which he fashioned his fínal report to the Archdiocesan Chancery on the possibility of diabolical influences in the case. The reader must decide whether "Father Ryan's" conclusions are adequate to the data. A.M.G.
