Crossway Books is to be congratulated on the publication of Angelwalk, by Roger Elwood. It is an unusual theme and an unusual treatment of a subject that will fascinate the reader and open new vistas along the line of imaginative fiction.
An angel is faced with the choice of joining Satan in his revolt against the God of all creation or of remaining faithful to the One who made him. He is given an opportunity to visit the earth and see and appreciate in advance what the consequences would be if he chooses to follow Satan. His quest is our quest and his experiences our experiences, but what follows the reader will discover for himself as he reads the book. This should whet the appetite of all of us.
Elwood treads in line with the footprints of perhaps the best known writer of this genre—C. S. Lewis, whose Screwtape Letters and Namia Tales have brought him lasting acclaim. For anyone to come near to the heights that C. S. Lewis reached is hard to believe.
