LESSONS Lesson One •PLEASE SEND IT (PART I)
Mr Jones and his children are no\V at home. It is the first Saturday of the summer holidays. Tim and Jill Jones are counting their money.
Tim: Four pounds , and twenty pence.
Jill: Three pounds , and fifty pence.;
Father: What's all this? Maths homework in the holidays?
Tim: No! It's my birthday money - from Aunt Flora, Uncle Tom
and Grandfather, And some pocket money, too. Jill: and it's my birthday money, and the ei^ty pence from
Mrs Lawson. Father: Well, what are you going to do with it? Tom: Spend it! Jill: Now!
Tim: On things for the holiday! Jill: And you' re coming with us! Father: Oh, am I?
They are in a big shop now, at the lift.
Lift girl: Going up! Going up! Father: The Sports Department, please.
Lift girl: First floor! Children's clothes. Second floor! Ladies' dresses and coats. Third floor! Sports Department and Kitchen Wares.
Several people get into the lift. The lift girl shuts the liftdoors. Young man: Kitchen Wares, please,
