IF WE MINIMIZE, until the end, the combination of shapes, materials and lights we come to an image which, from the harmony of proportions and from the atmosphere of glosses, invokes a magical landscape on the surface of the photo-paper. We can alsó call this mathematical wizardry for a universe is created, besides the proportions, from the energies originated in the opposition of the duality of light and shadow. In this black and white landscape the exact forms dissolve and are being monumentalized into ancient shapes. The countabte patterns which first seem to obey a law gradually expand toward the infinite. The first images of Anikó Robitz were inspired by the surface of the concrete in which the artist discovered patterns, in her later series úrban structures evolved from the depths of the sky, in others appear plastic surfaces which represent the forces working behind the convexity. Anikó Robitz as a young autodidact photographer started on the road which was marked by the modernist photographers most of aLl by the oeuvre of Lucien and Rodolphe Hervé. Her images are samples taken from úrban landscapes from various spots of the globe, despite they seem to represent the same, they grab the generál law in the individual phenomenon, The modernist photo-tradition comes back alsó in the austere black and white expression. The images are constructed from various tones of these two colors, sometimes they oppose and sometimes they graduate into each other. The compositions are being conducted by lines and rasters that run along the surfaces. GÁBOR DÖME
