BorofíkaThe current volume of the Apulum journal is dedicated to Nikolaus Boroffka, upon his 60"' anniversary. For over a decade, Nikolaus has been one of the members of the editorial board of the journal, as well as a co-editor of the first volume published in the Bibliotheca Musei Apulensis series in 1994 (H. Ciugudean, N. Boroffka (ed.). The Early Hallstatt Period (1200- 700 B. C.) in South-Eastern Europe. Proceedings of the International Symposium from Alba Mia, 10-12 June, 1993. Alba lulia 1994).Exactly 30 years ago, he published the study "The Use of Iron in Romania from its beginnings to the 8"' century SC in volume XXIV of the Apulum, his first archaeological article published in a scientific publication. It is therefore becoming that we pay homage to Nikolaus Boroffka in the pages of this journal itself, which he has honoured in his turn, as a member of the editorial board and a direct contributor, through several studies published along the years.The studies grouped in this volume span between the Neolithic and the Migration period, thus reflecting Nikolaus Boroffka's ample scientifical interests - since over the years, he has researched and published sites belonging to Prehistory, Antiquity and Migration Period, spread across Eastern and Central Europe and Asia.
