Preface to the third edition The text has been revised, large sections have been rewritten and new material added. Changes include sections on haemopoietic stem cells, leucocyte function, gene structure and recombinant DNA techniques, cobalamin-folate interrelation, red cell mem- brane, platelet function, haemostasis, lymphocyte subsets, leukaemia and anaemia of prematurity.
