PREFACE
In the course of several years business experience in France and Spain since being demobilized in 1919, the author has constantly felt the need of a good manual of business correspondence in English, French, and Spanish, which should contain examples of letters such as are exchanged between shipping companies and their agents, also those dealing with such subjects as insurance, contracts, collections, hire-purchase, mail order, and many other topics frequently omitted from correspondence books in foreign languages.
The object, therefore, of the present book has been to produce a complete commercial correspondence in English, French, and Spanish, which, whilst excluding all reference to such details as the rules of foreign orthography, conjugations, and other elementary stagework, should, nevertheless, be of considerable assistance to the merchant, or to the clerk in charge of foreign correspondence.
