Foreword
It is a pleasure for me to be able to write a few words at the beginning of this arrhythmia book. While several texts have been published recently that encompass a wide area of cardiac electrophysiology, none have been devoted solely to a practical approach to arrhythmia management. A book that is written for the practicing clinician, cardiology fellow, internist, and clinical cardiologist is definitely needed. Dr. Nac-carelli should be congratulated for securing experts in all areas to author the various chapters. The text includes practical discussions on approaches to understanding mechanisms of arrhythmias, recognizing, evaluating, and treating supreventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias and bradyarrhythmias in a variety of settings for adult and pediatric patients. Further, there are comprehensive discussions about pharmacological, electrical, and ablative therapy of cardiac arrhythmias. Timely publication by Futura has delivered an up-to-date resource that will help the clinician make management decisions for patients with cardiac arrhythmias. I can recommend this book for all doctors taking care of patients with these problems and I am pleased to write this enthusiastic foreword.
