FOREWORD This new Gem Thesaurus is based on the successful New Collins Thesaurus. It replaces with a more modern text the previous Gem Thesaurus, which has been a valued language aid for countless thousands of people all over the world for over twenty years. A thesaurus in dictionary form, like this one, has a big advantage: you go straight to the word that is your starting point and there are the synonyms. No matter how many meanings a word has, synonyms for all of them are found in the one entry.
