IIIMOZART: Piano-Concerto B^ major KV 238Mit dem Ersdieinen der frühen Mozart-Konzerte K. V. 175/382, 238, 242 und 246 in Tasdienpartitur soll eine Lücke geschlossen werden, die wohl von allen Mozartfreunden seit langem als schmerzlich empfunden wurde. Diese bezaubernden Werke waren bisher nur in Ausgaben zugänglidi, die alles andere als fehlerfrei waren. Neben zahlreidien sinnentstellenden Phrasie-rungen=^ waren bei der Revision nicht wenige Notenfehler richtigzustellen, wie etwa gleich im ersten Klaviersolo des Konzerts K. V. 238, wo die beiden ersten Noten der rediten Hand in T. 36 fast in allen Ausgaben um eine Terz zu hoch notiert waren, oder etwas später T. 53-54, wo die Akkorde der linken Hand meist fehlten.Aber nicht nur wegen der Textreinheit sei das Studium guter Partituren allen Pianisten nadhdrüÄlidi empfohlen. Kein nodi so guter Klavierauszug kann das feine kammermusikalische Gewebe eines Mozartkonzerts auch nur annähernd so genau wiedergeben wie eine Partitur. Sdion beim Beginn des Studiums sollte sidi ein Mozartspieler auch mit dem, was die anderen Instrumente zu sagen haben, vertraut machen. Die relative Unbequemlidi-keit des ersten Partiturlesens und des öfteren Umblätterns sollte gegenüber dem Gewinn an musikalisdier Einsidit kaum ins Gewicht fallen.Die Revision des B-Dur Konzerts K. V. 238 wurde nach dem Autograph vorgenommen, das sidi im Besitz der Library of Congress, "Washington, befindet. Die Handsdirift trägt die Übersdirift: Concerto di Cembalo / del Sgr. Cav. Amadeo Wolfg. Mozart / Nel gianaro (sie!) 1776 a Salisburgo. Eine weitere wichtige Quelle* Vgl. These enchanting works were previously only available in editions whidi were not entirely free from error. Apart from numerous examples of faulty phra-sing'^ a number of actual note-mistakes needed to be put right, as for instance, in the first piano solo of the Concerto K 238, where both of the first notes of the right hand in bar 36 were written a third too high in nearly all other editions, or, somewhat later (bars 53-54), where the arrangement of the left hand was quite inaccurate.However, the studying from good full scores is strongly recommended to all pianists, not only on account of the accuracy of the text itself. For a piano score is far less satisfactory for a pianist, who should understand fully the balance and texture of Mozart's fine instrumental writing When first studying a score one should acquaint oneself with the instrumental part-writing. Although it may be less convenient to read from a dozen or more staves at once when one first reads through such a score, and one obviously has to turn over the pages far more frequently, the musical insight and appreciation gained from the detail in this miniature score easily outweighs these initial difficulties.The present revision of the Bb major concerto (K. 238) has followed the autograph score entirely. The autograph itself is in the possession of the Library of Congress, Washington, D. C. The M. S. carries the following title: Concerto di Cembalo / del Signor Cav. Amadeo Wolfg.
