Concerto for two Horns [antikvár]

ANTONIO VIVALDI, Concerto for two Horns Pincherle Cat.') No. 321 Mario. Rinaldi^) Op. 48, No. 6 Vivaldi composed two concertos for two horns and string orchestra. The edition of the present concerto is based on the autograph score in the collection "Renzo Giordano" (Vol. Ill, pp. 176-188) in the Biblioteca Nazionale Turin. It is entitled: "Conto a 2 Corni da Caccia Del Vivaldi." The horns parts are noted in C, but in view of the tonality F-horns were undoubtedly called for, as only natural horns with this particular fundamental can possibly execute the solo parts. The score gives evidence of many corrections in the handwriting of the composer, especially in the 1st horn part. Regarding the bass line, which often is performed far too schematically, cf. Kolneder, "Auffiihrungspraxis bei Vivaldi"'). The pair of solo horns is joined by the bassoon to add the bass line to the conception in three parts. III, S. 176-188) iti der Biblioteca Nazionale Turin zu Grunde. Die Überschrift lautet: «Conto a 2 Corni da Caccia Del Vivaldi.» Die Hörner sind zwar in C notiert, es sind aber wegen der Tonart zweifellos F-Hörner verlangt, da nur Naturhörner in dieser Stimmung die Soloparte ausführen können. Die Partitur zeigt viele Verbesserungen von der Hand des Komponisten, namentlich im ersten Horn. Über die Besetzung der Basslinie, die meist viel zu schematisch gesdiieht, vgl. Kolneder in «Aufführungspraxis bei Vivaldi»®); zu den paarweise solistisch auftretenden Hörnern tritt hier der Fa-gottbass als «dreistimmig besetztes Tertzl» (Muffat).
