A könyvünkben bemutatott rajzok az Antal-Lusztig-gyűjtemény grafikai részének töredékét reprezentálják. A gyűjtemény nem grafikára szakosodott, azaz a gyűjtő nem törekedett arra, hogy egy-egy korszakot, grafikai technikát, stílust vagy csoportosulást teljes mértékben lefedjen gyűjteménye darabjaival. Az Antal-Lusztig-gyűjtemény grafikai része szorosan illeszkedik a festészeti és szobrászati anyaghoz, amely a gyűjtő által legfontosabbnak tartott magyar festők és szobrászok munkáit árnyalja és magyarázza, adott esetben önálló kiállítási tematikaként is megállja a helyét. Ennek megfelelően a grafikai rész heterogén összetételű, nagy átjárást biztosító értelmezési felület különböző témák, stílusok, technikák és csoportok között. Antal Péter gyűjtői koncepciója a 20. századi magyar művészet lefedésére irányul, és ennek megfelelően, a meghatározó festőegyéniségek képviseltetik benne magukat. A grafikai részben és ebben a válogatásban is tehát a „nagy nevek" önmagukban is megálló alkotásai szerepelnek. The drawings featured in this book represent only a fragment of the Antal-Lusztig Collection's graphics section. Graphic art is not the exclusive focus of the collection; i.e., it was not the collector's goal to fully cover a period, a graphic technique, style or group. There is a close connection between the Antal-Lusztig Collection's graphics section and its works of painting and sculpture, which serve to interpret and expound upon the work of Hungarian painters and sculptors whom the collector considers most important. The corpus also provides for a perfect independent exhibition. Accordingly, the graphics section is of heterogeneous constitution, open for interchange, interaction and interpretation across various themes, styles, techniques and groups. Péter Antal's concept as a collector is directed at encompassing 20th century Hungarian art, and accordingly, it represents the famous names, the definitive painter personalities of the period. The graphics section, and therefore this selection too, comprises works from big names, works that stand for themselves.
