ForewordThe last twelve months has been eventful both in my personal and professional life. I turned 40 and to mark the occasion, I set myself the challenge of cycling from the city I was born in Hungary, from Budapest to my current home town in the UK. But the biggest event of all was becoming a father. Katie and I welcomed our son, Finn, to the world in January 2019 and life has changed forever.2018 also marked ten years of me following cyclocross. I wanted to make 2018/2019 edition a special one, featuring the usual photos from the season, as well as a few chapters reflecting on memorable moments from my career thus far.Alas, the kickstarter campaign was unsuccessful, which forced me to rethink how I could make the book happen. Normally, I have help with the design and the layout and I have been able to pay for content from other writers. Without Kickstarter funding, this was not viable anymore. This book is Plan B. The design, the layout and the retrospective pieces are all my own work. I hope you don't mind me indulging in telhng of these stories - they give you a bit of background about my journey, what it is really like to sit in the mud up close to theriders and how I got to where I am today. However, I was still keen to include a select few pieces from other contributors, so I am pleased to be able to offer you features by Paul Maunder, Dan Seaton and Renaat Schotte. I have also included some photos taken on my behalf during the winter by another photographer Gergely Schoff -more on that later. This was the first time that I designed the book myself and I am rather nervous about it. I've never done it before and while I always know if I like a book's layout or not, it's a completely different animal to actually put one together from scratch. The creative challenge has been only part of the task, I also had to figure out all the intricacies of the sofliware. So, this edition is all on me. If you don't like the layout, I can't blame anybody else. Now, to the usual thank-yous. Firstly, I would like to thank everybody, who pre-ordered the book and helped me to make it happen. This book literally wouldn't be here without you! I truly hope you like it. I owe a big 'thank you' to Gergely Schoff, who helped me out during the Christmas week. Our son was due somewhere between Christmas and early January, so I decided that after ten years, I, for once, would spend Christmas and New Year's Eve at home in
