I have recently suinmarizeá (SZABÓ, 1962) Hungárián Si phonapterological literature ,rather meagre both ae to numberg and extent ,as well as the historj of the sporadic investigations, Prior to the publieation of the results deriving from recent researches,it seems desirable to eurvey the available data acceptabl with regard to the present political frontiere of our country, The first and alsó the eole important work dealing with the known flea species in Hungary appeared more than sixty years ago (KOHAUT,1903) ünfortunatelyf the author lista the reepective localities of somé few species only, but I haYe still made use of his data beeause, on the on hand, the majority of the fleas collected by him had been captured from home hosts arriYing in the LENDL-preparatory, andf on the other, the species listed hair been found, except for somé species, in the more recent collectings of the HUNGÁRIÁM NATÚRAL HISTORY MUSBUM. I have made exception with respect to one species only (Rhinolophopsylla unipectinata unipectlnata /TASCHENBERG/), beeause its locality listed lies beyond our present borders.
