PREFACE This Dictionary has been prepared for the use of students, draftsmen, mechanics, builders, electricians, and for workmen generally, to assist them in understanding the technical terms which are in use in all sections of the United States. No attempt has been made to include all the technical terms in any one field. The purpose has been to make the scope broad enough to give the workman that knowledge of trade nomenclature which will be useful to him as the pursuit of his vocation brings him in contact with other technical fields.
