THE HUNGÁRIÁN CHAMBER OF COMMERCEAmong the 479 member enterprises of the Hungárián Chamber of Commerce we find enterprises that are engaged exelusively in foreign trade, produeing enterprisessomé of which are authorized to export and/or to importas well as servicing and other enterprises. Membership is mandatory for the foreign trade enterprises and for those which are authorized to export and/or to import, while the rest of the enterprises (three quarters of the membership) have joined the Chamber voluntarily. The member enterprises account for 85 per cent of totál Hungárián exports.The Chamber's activities are directed by an elected Presidential Board, the members of which are directors of the largest Hungárián companies. A significant part of these activities is carried out by the Chamber's var-ious bodies. There are three kinds of bodies, in the work of which any member enterprise may participate: the branch sections deal with the problems of somé in-dustrial branch (e.g. there are sections for the alu-minium industry, for the machine-tool industry, for the telecommunication industry, for the timber- and paper industry, etc.); the specialized committees deal with selected problems of generál interest (e.g. mass com-
