Bővebb ismertető
Foreword
You have been learning to use English and you want to go on learning. This book is called Discovering English because we know you want to discover and learn more.
Discovering English will help you to practise what you have learnt and will introduce you to more English. There is new grammar and a lot of interesting reading. You will be able to listen to a variety of conversations and radio programmes. You will learn many useful words and phrases.
When you use this book, you will discover the different ways to talk about past, present and future time. You will also discover how to ask for help and advice, how to give your opinion, how to give advice and how to report what you have heard or read. Writing English is important, too, and you will learn how to write messages and formal and informal letters.
Of course, if you want to learn quickly, you will have to study at home. You can have your own book of new words and phrases and you can practise speaking English with other students. The book gives you exercises and helps you to study on your own.
Your new hook. Discovering English, was written by a practical teacher for practical students. However, I could not have written it without Michael Thorn's contributions and help. Joy McKellen and Sarah Thorpe gave me very valuable editorial help, so I should like to thank them as well.
Everything in Discovering English is useful. It is up to you to use it and practise your English. You will enjoy it.
