What do you feel when a friend is singled out for praise, while no words are spoken about you? What do you feel when the car before yours stalls, and you miss the green signal? What happens when the flight you are about to board is delayed due to bad weather?The answer is obvious: We would ail rave and rant and curse and scowl and otherwise exhibit disagreeable behaviour.This year, as we celebrate Dussehra, let us remember Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani's beautiful words: "Think of Sri Rama. He is preparing for his coronation as Yuvaraj of Ayodhya. Without any warning, he is told by Kaikeyi that he must give up his right to the throne and go into the forest as an exile for fourteen long years.Did he not have provocation enough to rage and protest? But Sri Rama remained unperturbed, calm, unmoved - Stitha Prajna. What a glorious example for us to cherish!"In these troubled times, let us celebrate Dussehra as happy, patient, understanding and good humoured people!
