i. The Present Perfect Tense (i)
We learnt in Book Two (Lesson 17) that verbs have 3 parts: thc stem, the Past Tense, and the Past Participle. Regular verbs make the Past Tense and the Past Participle by adding -ed or -d to the stem. Irregular verbs make the Past Tense and the Past Participle in a number of different ways. You must learn the 3 parts of irregular verbs; there is a üst of them at the back of this book, on pages 105-107.
