THE NEW METHOD PRACTICE BOOKS
INTRODUCTION
When we learn to speak or to write a foreign language, we do two things :
(1) we learn the words of the language and how to put them together to form sentences ;
(2) we form the right language-learning habits, of which there are four.
The first habit is to observe correctly what is said or written. The second habit is to imitate correctly what is heard or read. The third habit is to associate the words with what they mean. The fourth habit is to form sentences on the analogy of sentences already learnt.
These Practice Books are designed in such a way as to cause the pupils not only to learn English words and sentences, but alsó to form these four language-learning habits.
