FOREWORDThis year's Index of Biochemical Reviews is published somewhat later than usual and we apologize for the unavoidable delay. As previously, reviews, lectures and articles in books published mainly during the past year are listed according to the subject headings given on pages vii-x.Since the first volume of this Index for 1971-72 the number of periodicals which publish reviews has increased steadily. Several established journals now contain reviews and lectures and there are a number of new publications, e.g. Age, Dev.Comp.Immunol., Enzyme Miorob. Teahnol. , J. Autonom. New. Syst. , J. Immunol .Methods and J. Neurosa-i. Methods , which also include such articles. Our coverage of books is still relatively limited and readers are advised to consult FEBS Letters book lists and book reviews,which are currently published six times per year, for additional information.
