Flight from Bucharest robert tyler stevens - a pen name - was born in 1911 and went to West Square Secondary School, Westminster. During the war he started writing in his spare time, and from the end of the war until he was demobbed in 1946, he ran and wrote an army 'wall' newspaper. He was married in 1937 and has one son. Until 1948 he worked for the Blue Star Shipping Company, from which he joined a small Croydon publishing firm, later forming his own company publishing maps and guides. In 1968 he förmed another company, this time manufacturing sports and casual wear, for which he is still the managing director. He now lives with his wife and son in Oxted, Surrey. His novels include The Summer Day is Done (published by Fontana) and Appointment in Sarajevo (published by Souvenir Press).
