FOREWORD Los Angeles has long been dubbed the "Entertainment Capital of the World." More than twelve million people spend some time in the "Big Orange" and in the surrounding Southland every year. Fodor's Los Angeles is designed to explain just what this stimulating city is all about. It is written to help you decide what to do and where to go once you're there. The book is intended to be your tool for making some order from the chaos of possibilities. All selections and comments in Fodor's Los Angeles are based on the editors' and contributors' personal experience. We believe that our first responsibility is to inform and protect you, the reader. Changes are bound to affect any travel guide, however. Many changes can occur in Los Angeles while we are on press and during the succeeding twelve months or so when this edition is on sale.
