Most people walk down stairs, putting one foot more or less carefully in front of the other, and perhaps holding on to the banisters. Not Harry Holds worth, oh no, not he!
Long hours of practice had made Harry expert in unusual methods of getting from the upper to the ground floor of the Holdsworths' house.
Some were comparatively simple—sHding down the banisters for example, or rolling down the stairs, or hopping down them, feet together, one step at a time. Hopping down but missing out every other step was a good deal more difficult, and could be made harder still by doing it with hands in pockets, or even—the real test—with hands in pockets and eyes shut.
