Bővebb ismertető
INTRODUCTION
I-Spy is a four-level course for children learning English in primary schools.
I-Spy level 1 consists of a Course Book and Activity Book for pupils; a Teacher's Pack containing a Teacher's Book, Photocopy Masters Book, and Passwords Poster; a Flashcard Pack; a Poster Pack; and three Cassettes.
Course Components
I-Spy level 1 is made up as follows:
Pupils' Books
Course Book
A 64-page, full-colour book for use in the classroom which presents language via lively fantasy features such as the Ghoul School characters, the Rubbish cartoon strips, and the Spies. In addition, the book contains listening activities, games, poster pictures, songs, and rhymes. It is designed to be enjoyable and lively to use, whilst at the same time being purposeful and providing pupils with an essential source of reference.
Activity Book
An 80-page black and white book full of challenging and entertaining puzzle-type tasks for use in the classroom. The book includes 16 pages of cut-outs which are used to add a more physical, tactile dimension to many of the activities throughout the course.
Teacher's Resources
Teacher's Book
This provides clear, step-by-step lesson notes to accompany each lesson. These include reproductions of both Course Book and Activity Book pages (with answers provided for the written activities); a complete tapescript; guidance on teacher language; a syllabus box listing language, skills, and materials needed in each lesson; optional activities for every lesson; and reproductions of any resource materials used.
In addition to the lesson notes, each unit begins with an overview page which lists the aims of the unit, offers guidance on poster presentation for contextualizing language, shows reproductions of extra materials that accompany the unit, and gives advance warning of any additional resources teachers will need to collect themselves.
Each unit ends with a large whole-class project which picks up on and extends certain cross-curricular themes in that unit. Whilst the projects themselves are optional, it is strongly recommended that you make use of this component of the course.
Finally there is a resource of extra ideas at the back of the book relating to the spy theme (the Spy Files). These provide further optional activities and can be used for coping with mixed-ability classes through reinforcement and/or extension work.
