PrefaceSince mid 1998 I have had the privilege of partnering with so many people through the work of Sowing Seeds for Revival in numerous cities in the UK, and more latterly within different nations in mainland Europe, as well as a number of cities in the US, particularly on the West Coast. As the journey has continued, 1 have gleaned fresh approaches through this interaction with different people in the various situations. This book is largely the fruit of that journey. Ideas that 1 think are original to me are probably not, for 1 am sure that someone will have seeded virtually every concept of value in this book with sharper insights than my own. If there are concepts within the chapters I have written that need some radical adjustment, sadly those might well be original!In the previous book, Gaining Ground,^ the main focus was related to the development of strategic prayer, although it also touched on new shapes for church, and how to engage with the community outside the church structures. In this book 1 am looking to take these concepts further, seeking to explore the very real possibility of reaching a city through developing a fourfold approach. This fourfold approach can be summarized under four headings: the need for those carrying responsibility within the pastoral realm of the Body of Christ to find a unity together; the necessity of believers to stand through every sphere in our cities; the desire for multi-level prayer to be developed; and the development of the prophetic watchpeople in the city so that the voice of God is being heard through all
