Robert Storey oversaw the 3rd edition and researched Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Sulawesi. Dan Spitzer updated Java and Kalimantan, Richard Nebesky went to Sumatra, and Bali was covered by Tony Wheeler and James Lyon, who also explored Lombok. For the 4th edition, Peter Turner was the coordinating author and he also researched Java. James Lyon covered Bali and Lombok, Brendan Delahunty explored Kalimantan and Sulawesi, Paul Greenway went to Maluku and Irian Jaya, Chris MacAsey updated Nusa Tenggara and David Willett updated Sumatra. The 5th edition was coordinated by Peter Turner and he also updated the introductory chapters and Java and Nusa Tenggara. James Lyon revised Bali and the Lombok section of the Nusa Tenggara chapter, Brendan Delahunty researched the Sulawesi chapter, Paul Greenway worked on the Maluku and Irian Jaya chapters, Chris Taylor covered Kalimantan and David Willett updated Sumatra. The 6th edition was again coordinated by Peter Turner, who also updated the introductory chapters and Java. Paul Greenway worked on the Bali chapter and the Lombok section of Nusa Tenggara, as well as Sulawesi, Maluku and Irian Jaya. Marie Cambon updated Kalimantan and Brendan Delahunty covered NusaTenggara. Emma Miller researched and revised Sumatra. For this 7th edition of Indonesia, Patrick Witton took on the role of coordinating the project. He researched and updated the introductory chapters and special sections, and also surveyed the attractions of Sulawesi. Matt Warren covered the length and breadth of Java and Virginia Jealous explored the island of Bali. Etain O'Carroll delved into the diverse cultures of Sumatra and Nick Ray explored the arc of islands that is Nusa Tenggara. Alan Tarbell travelled deep into Kalimantan and Mark Elliott discovered the spice of Maluku. Paul Greenway journeyed into remote Papua to update that chapter. Contributors to the special sections were Andrew Tudor (Surfing Indonesia) and Audra Kunciunas (Indonesian Cuisine).
