Bővebb ismertető
Industrial Relations in the Common Market The Common Market, when Britain, Denmark, Norway and Ireland have joined the original 'Six', will be the largest economic unit in the world, yet comparatively little is known in Britain about the important area of industrial relations in the Common Market. This comparative study of the member countries shows the range of industrial relations and discusses some of the current issues and problems in these countries. In order to provide a framework for his discussion of labour relations, Campbell Balfour describes the Common Market itself, its economic growth and the diverse economies of the member countries. He then examines political parties and trade unions, and deals with the themes of collective bargaining, incomes policy, law and labour relations, industrial democracy, labour mobility and social security. In addition to his own wide-ranging treatment of this important area, Campbell Balfour indicates the various sources and books which will take the reader further into the subject. His study will give the lecturer, student, politician, businessman and interested layman new insight into the industrial relations of the Community in which Britain will play an important part. The Author Campbell Balfour is a graduate of the London School of Economics. He has worked in industry and has extensive experience in local government and municipal transport, as a city councillor and member of the Finance, Establishment, Joint Consultative and Transport Committees. He has taught in American universities, and has recently been working with the I.L.O. in Geneva and Asia. He is now Senior Lecturer in Industrial Relations at University College, Cardiff. Campbell Balfour is the author of Incomes Policy and the Public Sector (Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1972).
