PrefaceThe truth Is one, the teachings are many.The heart is one, the minds are numerous.Religious teachings are the ejqjression of the precious heart energy. Although a thousand people have a thousand diflferent minds, there is only one, similar heart energy. Those multiple expressions are only representations of the energy of the heart. Their teachings, historical backgrounds, ways, terminologies, and colorful decorations are all different. The differences in expression come from the differences in the minds of the people who do the plaiming or worshipping.All different temples, churches and schools of teaching only serve one thing: the heart. People who onty go to a regular type of school leam no more than to stretch their intelligence; they leam nothing that connects with the heart. Thus, different types of schools eulse to respond to the heart's need.In ancient times, the Chinese word, "Shlng" usually meant the heart, but it also meant the mind. Spiritually, the heart and mind are one in an Individual in babyhood and in the earlier stages of Itfe. Later, a separation happens between the heeirt and the mind of a indlviduEd and the society; personal intellect Is no longer united with the heart. They go different ways. However, even though they are separate, the heart eilways wishes to call its partner back to serve the life being together.The mind disobeys or rebels against the heart. The mind says, 'What nonsense you are talking!" and separates from it and goes its own way. In everyday life, the mind considers the heart stupid, and the heart considers the mind cmel.
