Bővebb ismertető
An important task for Employers' Organizations - EO's - is to
share useful information with their members. Information is a "raw
material" that can provide competitive advantages for the EO that
can process it efficiently to meet the needs of its members.
Until twenty years ago this was mainly done through post and telex.
Then came the "facsimile transmission". And now, with the develop-
ment of electronic communication technology everybody has a person-
al electronic mailbox - and e-mail, internet and the web cannot be ig-
nored by any EO. Actually, the use of ITtechnology can strengthen an
EO's links with its members, allowing it to personalize the informa-
tion provided to meet specific needs and demands, and thus provide
better, faster service which can generate trust and confidence.
The new technologies require new investments however, and for
non-specialists it's not always evident how to go about this, what
kind and how much investments are needed. New personnel has also
to be recruted to handle new equipment and services, and above all -
the internal organization has to be reshaped, and all staff trained.
We are grateful to the Bulgarian Industrial Association, and spe-
cially to its president, Mr Bojidar Danev who accepted to share their
experience from setting up and operating the
BIA-NET, their electronic network for rendering services to the
members.
We hope that the information and examples provided in this guide,
with useful advice and hints for managers who are charged to set up
and handle such networks, will be appreciated by and prove useful
to manv EO's.
We are also eager to receive reactions and comments, preferably to
our own e-mail address which is
[email protected] or via our Web-site:
http://www.ilo.org/employers - and it will be a pleasure for us to of-
fer to put a "link" to your web-sites our web-page.
I wish you a useful reading.
